Hey everyone,

I hope everyone had a really good christmas with their families and friends and an even better jump into the new year. I had an amazing time with my girlfriend at home in Germany, everything was better that i could have expected, it was soo relaxing and enjoyed every second with Juli. I got to see my family for the first christmas in a couple of years. It was really good to see them and also catch up with friends old and new. Although i must say im glad that the whole christmas holiday is over, nothing but stress sometimes. sadly though im sitting in Halls waiting to do my exams on Monday through Friday. I cant wait till they are are over too (”,) I could speak all night about my time away but ill let you judge for yourselves, be sure to check out the pictures.

Hallo zusammen,

Another Brutal Cop

January 3rd, 2008

The release of the images that over 40,000 people have seen within the last few days sparked a great amount of coverage, probably because a lot of people around the world can relate the brutality of some of the cops that we find patrolling in our neighbourhoods.

In this case we see how a very peaceful demonstration can lead to the Police thinking they are the power. It’s happened again. Citizen journalists, using camcorders to record various events, have caught a brutal New York cop in an unprovoked attack on a bicyclist. It used to be this was the sort of stuff we saw in sweeps week local TV investigations.

The latest happened during what’s known as a Critical Mass bicycle ride in New York. These events, held around the country, get a lot of bikers out to draw attention to the fact that bicycles have as much right to the road as anyone. We have the video…

What’s most amazing about this is how the cop totally fabricated the incident, claiming that the cyclist - Christopher Long, of Hoboken, N.J. - rode his bike straight at him. Never happened. Not even close, as the video shows. But based on the cop’s false report, Long was handcuffed, arrested, and charged with attempted assault, resisting arrest, and disorderly conduct for allegedly obstructing traffic.

Then the video surfaced. As of this morning, it’s been viewed by more than 775,000 people. The cop has been relieved of his badge and gun and is now under investigation.
